喜多郎與格萊美獎的不解之緣自此開始
與美國「死之華樂團」知名鼓手米基·哈特聯手製作。專輯充滿了對「生命、死亡與再生」的演繹。
作品由以印度知名手鼓樂手Zakir Hussain為首的豪華陣容演奏，所收曲錄《田野》獲得格萊美獎新世紀最佳音樂大獎提名。專輯中還使用了一種琵琶樂器——mandolin曼陀林。
這張專輯混入了搖滾的風格，可以說，喜多郎的曲風自這張專輯開始慢慢走向西方，這張專輯也奠定了他在美國樂壇的地位。
