Opened in 1978, Sha Tin Racecourse has a capacity of about 83,000 spectators. It features the longest Diamond Vision screen measuring 70.4 metres wide by 8 metres high, equivalent to 4,500 52-cm television sets. 沙田馬場獲譽為全球最佳賽馬場之一，只有到過沙田馬場，您的香港之旅才算圓滿。您可在觀眾席上感受駿馬呼嘯而過、極速奔馳的刺激快感，並與其他馬迷一起歡呼吶喊，激勵自己選擇的馬匹奔向終點。


沙田馬場於1978年啟用，可容納83,000名觀眾。賽馬場規劃了全球最寬闊的巨型彩色熒幕，長70.4米，高8米，面積相等於4,500部52厘米寬的電視機，詳盡顯示每一場賽事的資料及賽果。


在每年9月至翌年6、7月初馬季期間，沙田馬場每星期都會舉行賽事，一般在星期三晚上或星期六/日的下午舉行。年滿18歲的旅客，如在香港停留不超過21天，就可以購買入場證，進入跑道旁的會員席觀賞賽事，感受賽馬活動的緊張刺激；您也可以參加賽馬觀光團，把觀賽的安排交由專人代勞。賽馬會還設立了投注站，歡迎旅客一試運氣，說不定您會有意想不到的收穫呢！
