Unlike the other stations on the KCR network, the one at Tai Po Market built in 1913 followed a Chinese style. Declared a monument in 1984, the station now houses the Hong Kong Railway Museum, which displays old rolling stock and railway memorabilia. Open 9am-5pm daily, except Tuesday and some public holidays

鐵路沿線火車站以往均有劃一設計，唯獨大埔墟火車站按照中國傳統建築風格建成。火車站建於一九一三年，正面、屋頂及裝飾等均具中國建築特色，但火車站的內部則按火車站運作需要而設計。一九八三年新大埔墟火車站建成，代替原來的車站。舊大埔墟火車站經全面修復後，改作香港鐵路博物館。

Directions:
Tai Wo Station of the MTR East Rail line and walk through Tai Wo Estate, towards Tai Po Market station. Then cross Tai Wo bridge and turn into Yan Hing Street, then turn left onto On Fu Road. Or take a short taxi ride from the station.
